Yusuf Rizvi
Yusuf RizviYusuf hails from Lucknow, ‘the city of Nawabs’ in Uttar Pradesh. His Passion for wildlife began in childhood when his father’s friend an Indian Forestry Service (IFS) officer invited them to Katarniyaghat Wildlife Sanctuary. It changed his life and interest in wildlife. From that moment onwards wilderness and animals never stopped to amaze this budding naturalist. Yusuf is a regular visitor of Dudhwa National Park and Katarniyaghat Wildlife Sanctuary having a detailed knowledge of the habitat and wildlife at both. He is keenly interested in further developing his knowledge and is always on the lookout for rare and uncommon species.

After graduating with a BSc. he started working for ITES, though the call of the wild and his love for nature was too strong for him to ignore and he decided to follow his passion; wildlife and photography. He underwent Taj Safaris in Madhya Pradesh. He was part of a team involved in radio collaring of a sub-adult tiger at Pench Tiger Reserve in 2009 and also participated the first Aircel Save Our Tiger Telethon aired on NDTV and hosted by Amitabh Bachchan.

Yusuf has a keen interest in birds, mammals and photography. During his time with Taj Safari he was something of a talisman and he gained a reputation as a guide for securing for visitors the most tiger sightings. Although he is well versed with all aspects of nature and wildlife, his true passion are birds so don’t be shy to ask him your birding questions.
