1. We met Himanshu in 2013 during our first wildlife holiday to India, when he was one of our guides. We were greatly impressed by his depth of knowledge and friendly nature and kept in touch after our return to England.
Having thoroughly enjoyed our first experience of India we decided to go again in 2015 and so contacted Himanshu for his advice. Himanshu informed us that he had recently formed ‘Krishnaviexpeditions’ and if we could give him an outline of what we were looking for he would put a package together for us to consider. We subsequently did what has become Himanshu’s ‘Essence of India’ tour in March/April this year and what a fantastic trip we had.
Himanshu’s knowledge of the various Tiger Reserves and their wildlife is second to none. He is also extremely well connected with the drivers and guides who work theses parks and also the managers of the lodges where we stayed. Himanshu had obviously done lots of research prior to our arrival and knew exactly which areas were showing the best activity and sighting opportunities. Consequently every day was packed with memorable experiences including ten individual tiger sightings, three leopards and three sloth bears. We really could not have wished for any more from our wildlife holiday.
Away from the drives, our accommodation and food were also superb and we enjoyed lovely hospitality wherever we stayed.
Himanshu is not only well known, knowledgeable and interesting (he is also an expert photographer and chef!) but he is also fun to be with. We would recommend a trip with him to any first time or repeat visitors to this magical country. By Tim and Hannah (England)
2. Himanshu was highly recommended by a friend as a good choice to arrange and lead a wildlife expedition to India for my wife and me. From the outset Himanshu designed an itinerary that was tailored to our requirements with an emphasis on wildlife and a few days sightseeing at the end of our holiday. All we had to do was to arrange our flights.
The arrangements could not have been bettered. On arrival in India we were met at Delhi Airport and from that moment on we experienced what can only be described as VIP treatment. Although we had opted for an itinerary that involved travelling not inconsiderable distances at no point did we feel anything other than total confidence in the arrangements that had been made for us.
The main objective was to see and photograph wildlife and we were not disappointed. Himanshu is a professional naturalist and photographer and his enthusiasm for the subject was matched only by his desire to ensure we had the best possible time in the jungle. We had several unforgettable tiger sightings and saw many other mammalian species including the elusive sloth bear, deer, wild pig, monkeys, mongoose and jackal. We also saw over 100 different species of birds. Our accommodation in jungle lodges added to the overall experience with every comfort and friendly service that could not have been bettered.
Our sightseeing centred on Jaipur and Udaipur. In Jaipur, which is Himanshu’s home city, we stayed with Himanshu and his wife Deepti at their ‘home stay’ Pratap Bhawan, which is to be highly recommended for comfort and warmth of welcome. In Udaipur we stayed for our last couple of days in India at the enchanting Lake Pichola Hotel complete with an excellent roof top restaurant overlooking the lake, the old city and Royal Palace.
Our time in India was a wonderful experience that had been facilitated by Himanshu with consummate skill and consideration. By Keith Dallimore (Oxford, United Kingdom)
